What is AlmaNow?
AlmaNow is Alma's progressive web app (PWA) that you can install on your phone, tablet, or computer. While Alma has always been mobile-friendly through your web browser, AlmaNow gives you app-like functionality with faster loading and easy access from your home screen.
Important: AlmaNow is not available in the App Store or Google Play. You install it directly from your school's Alma website using the instructions below.
Who should use AlmaNow?
AlmaNow is designed for students and parents. While staff can install AlmaNow on their devices, staff tools are not optimized for mobile screens. We recommend staff use a desktop or tablet when working in Alma.
Why use a progressive web app?
Progressive web apps are becoming the new standard for mobile applications. They offer several benefits:
Consistent behavior between the website and the app
Secure access to your information
Faster loading than traditional apps
No app store downloads required
Automatic updates (you always access the most current version of Alma)
How to install AlmaNow
On Android devices:
Open the Google Chrome browser on your Android device
Go to your school's Alma site
Tap the three vertical dots (menu icon) in the top-right corner
Scroll down and tap "Add to Home screen" (you may also see an install icon in the address bar)
When the pop-up appears, tap "Add" or "Install" to confirm
The AlmaNow icon will appear on your home screen
On iOS devices (iPhone or iPad):
Open Safari and log into your school's Alma site
Tap the share icon at the bottom of the screen
Scroll up past your suggested apps
Select "Add to Home Screen"
Modify the title of the icon or leave it as is
Tap "Add"

On computers (Chrome browser):
Open Google Chrome and navigate to your school's Alma site
Click the plus (+) icon on the right end of the address bar
Follow the prompts to install AlmaNow
Note: You need Chrome version 79 or later to install AlmaNow on your computer.
How to log into AlmaNow
Use the same username and password for AlmaNow that you use for Alma. To protect student, staff, and parent information, the app will ask you to log in again after 60 minutes of inactivity.
How to remove AlmaNow
From mobile devices:
Press and hold the AlmaNow icon on your home screen
On Android: Drag the icon up to "Uninstall"
On iOS: Tap the 'X' that appears in the corner
From computers:
Open AlmaNow
Click the three dots menu
Select "Uninstall AlmaNow"
Note: If you don't see the uninstall option on your computer, make sure you're using Chrome version 79 or later.
You can reinstall AlmaNow anytime by visiting your school's Alma website and following the installation instructions above.
